(Full-time unionized position)
Under the immediate supervision of the Chief Building Official, the person is responsible for the study and analysis of construction plans for recommendation to the Chief Building Official for the issuance of construction or renovation permits and is responsible for required inspections in compliance with the Building Code and in accordance with the applicable policies and by-laws.
Requirements
-Excellent capacity to communicate orally and verbally in French and English. The work environment is francophone.
-Post-secondary Diploma in architecture or equivalent
-In the process of obtaining or hold the Chief Building Official (CBO) certification under the Ontario Building Code Act
-Experience in the field of construction and inspection
-Experience in municipal management of buildings
-Three to five years of relevant experience
-Extensive knowledge of the Ontario Building Code Act and of the related provincial and municipal regulations
-Capacity to read and interpret construction plans and specifications, both residential and commercial
-Technical knowledge of construction, of trends and good practices
-Knowledge of the Fire Code, an asset
-Very good knowledge of the Microsoft suite and ability to work in a technological environment
-Valid driver’s licence
-Interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with the public, good judgment
Salary
From $ 1080,99 to $ 1169,11 per week, according to the Collective Agreement presently in effect.

Municipal Facilities
(Unionized permanent full-time position – day and evening shifts, 7 days schedule from Sunday to Saturday)
Reporting to the Foreman of Municipal Facilities, the person performs work that includes cleaning, preparation of recreational surfaces, repairs and maintenance of facilities, municipal properties and equipment.
Responsibilities of regular position
Carry out housekeeping at the Sports Complex and in the various buildings of the Town
Execute minor work
Assist in the operation of municipal facilities
Perform sports and recreational fields maintenance, such as grass cutting, lining and general upkeep
Assist in the start-up, maintenance and shutdown of the swimming pool and splash pads
Assist in the assembly and dismantling of venue rentals and various events
Perform snow clearing operations for entrances, accesses and trails for municipal facilities and parks
Provide supervision at the Sports Complex, Town Hall and various areas of the municipality
Inform and directs the public if necessary
Participate in various projects of the Municipal Facilities Department
Requirements
Secondary High School Diploma
One (1) year of relevent experience
Good physical condition
Hold a valid driver’s licence class « G »
Skills
Ability to use small equipment
Team player
Autonomy and resourceful
Easy to work with a various clientele.
Remuneration
From $17.67 to $20.94 hourly according to the Collective Agreement presently in force. The Town of Hawkesbury offers good benefits.

The incumbent executes inspections of fire alarms in residential homes and supports the department to meet the objectives of fire prevention and risk reduction.

The incumbent helps our Seasonal Horticulturist in his daily tasks performing physically demanding work such as cleaning after pruning trees, maintenance of flower bed, hanging baskets across the Town and maintenance of green spaces, parks, etc.
Hourly rate will be $17.67
S2024-FACILITIES Park Maintenance Laborer (2) (40h)
The incumbent helps Municipal Facilities’ Team in its daily tasks performing physically demanding work such as cutting grass, pick-up trashes, help with special events preparations.

S2024-PUBLIC WORS General Maintenance Laborer (1) (40h)
The incumbent helps Public Works’ Team in its daily tasks performing physically demanding work such as cutting grass, road patch filling, follow the P.W. crews to help in different daily tasks.
Hourly rate will be $17.67
S2024-RECREATION Recreation Monitor (2) (35h)
The incumbent is responsible for operations related to the different sports facilities, such as the booking centre and O’Shack rentals, and promotes the use of these in the community. They establish trust with the users, ensures their safety, as well as the smooth running of the activities. They offer excellent customer service to citizens as well as tourists. They collaborate with their peers to promote natural spaces and the activities offered during the summer season. Participate to special events preparations when required.
