Volunteering promotes citizen participation, responsibility and interaction in the society.
Volunteer involvement is fundamental to a healthy and democratic society. The Town of Hawkesbury believes that the strength of a community can often be measured by the health and wellness of the members within it. The Town recognizes the important role volunteers’ play in helping accomplish its mission and mandates.
Events
Various volunteer opportunities are available during our annual and informal events!
Citizens' Committee
This committee discusses important topics related to recreational activities and events that happen in town.
Security and Information
Security and customer service play a pivotal role during activities and events.
First Aid
Whether it be to provide emergency first aid or to offer support, first aid volunteers are always needed.
Volunteer Requirements
Volunteers must be a minimum of 14 years of age.
Volunteers under the age of 19 must provide a signed letter of consent from a parent or legal guardian.
For those volunteering as a part of their diploma requirements, they must present their volunteer sheet from their educational institution.
Volunteers in certain assignments may be asked to submit a background criminal check.

Animation - 4 volunteer positions
Join the parade as an Elf from the North Pole and help us collect letters from children addressed to Santa.
Ensure the safety of the families watching the parade by making sure they stay on the sidewalk.
Sécurité - 4 volunteer positions
Walk next to the parade floats to make sure families stay on the sidewalk.
Follow the Santa Claus float at the end of the parade to ensure children do not get too close to the wheels of the float.
