Criminal record check

To obtain your criminal record check, you must contact your district police. It takes time, thus your request must be made well before the interview.

Permanent part time position


Under the authority of Fire Chief Department, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the office and provides administrative support to the Fire Chief and the Fire Department.


-        High School Diploma with appropriate options

-        Hold a minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience

-        Excellent organizational skills, ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and set priorities

The Recreation and Culture Department is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Aquafitness Instructor to plan and instruct aquatic fitness classes at the Robert Hartley Sports Complex.

Under the immediate supervision of the Chief Building Official, the successful applicant is responsible for the study and analysis of construction plans for recommendation to the Chief Building Official for the issuance of construction or renovation permits and is responsible for required inspections in compliance with the Building Code and in accordance with the applicable policies and by-laws.




  • Excellent capacity to communicate orally and verbally in French and English. The work environment is francophone.
  • Post-secondary Diploma in architecture or equivalent

  • In the process of obtaining or hold the Chief Building Official (CBO) certification under the Ontario Building Code Act

  • Experience in the field of construction and inspection

  • Experience in municipal management of buildings

Reporting to the Manager of Municipal facilities, the General Helper assists regular staff in the clean up, preparation of recreational areas, repairs and maintenance of facilities, properties and equipment. Part of your duties will be to attend municipal facility operations, transport equipment, furnishings, or equipment for special events within the Town. You will also be required to work outdoors for the maintenance of municipal, sports and recreational installations.

Part-time position

The Town of Hawkesbury is looking for persons interested in the position of Manager of Municipal Facilities. Reporting to the Director of the department, the successful candidate will be responsible for the operational activities of the facilities. This includes managing employees under their supervision, suppliers, and customer service. Other than ensuring the proper running of operations, the Manager of Municipal Facilities also participates in implementing the capital projects for facilities, their tasks will include planning, managing and administering the multiple projects of the department.


  • Sees to the daily management and administration of technical operational tasks in order to ensure the efficient and secure use of all equipment and systems that are part of the facilities (for ex. Mechanical, electric and security systems, etc.)
  •  Organize and administer the work of contractors.
  • Prepare, coordinate and administer contracts and partnerships to ensure the development, maintenance and use of facilities.
  • Ensure that facilities are always compliant with the norms and standards as established by the regulatory authorities (ex: ESA, TSSA, Work health and safety, the building code, the fire code, play structure standards, CSA standards, Health office standards on cleanliness of working areas, etc.)
  • Actively participate in meetings to promote the communication and sharing of information on projects that are in progress.
  • Be the link between the users of municipal facilities and the maintenance staff to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Plan, execute and monitor maintenance programs and activities related to the various components of municipal buildings, parks and facilities (exterior shell and interior, plumbing, electricity, splash pads, arena, swimming pool, playground) as well as green spaces, as carried out by the Town’s staff or subcontractors.
  • Ensure proper operation, repair and improvement of air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration and heating systems, and computerized remote monitoring, if needed.
  • Solve technical problems related to municipal facilities.
  • Manage contracts that fall under their responsibility.
  • Participate in construction, development and renovation projects of municipal buildings and facilities (write estimates and specifications, review projects, formulate proposals, monitor implementation, etc.)
  • Prepare the budget for their department and monitor its implementation, in collaboration with their director.
  • Keep up to date on grant opportunities which may become available for their department, and participate in the application process.


  • Francophone work environment. English is an asset.
  • Hold a college degree in building mechanics, or equivalent
  • Hold a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience, particularly in managing projects, staff and buildings.
  • Must have experience in managing unionized personnel.
  • Hold a valid driver's license at the minimum Class G.
  • Be available to answer emergency calls of the department.
  • Knowledge of Public Pool Safety Standards and knowledge of ice rink management, an asset. 


This is a permanent full-time position (40 hours/week) with an annual pay scale starting at $65,171. The Corporation of the Town of Hawkesbury offers an interesting and competitive salary and benefits package.

Certification in Water Treatment and Distribution and Wastewater Treatment

(Full-time unionized position)

Under the authority of the Superintendent of the Environmental Service, the operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Water Treatment Plant (treatment and distribution) and the Wastewater Treatment Plant.  The operator is also responsible to monitor and operate computerized controlled systems and related equipment in the Treatment Plant.  He executes his work in accordance with the requirements established by the Ministry of the Environment of Ontario.


Shifts including weekends


  • High School Diploma
  • Possess the appropriate classification in Water Distribution as per the Ministry of the Environment of Ontario’s regulations or the equivalent

  • Have two (2) years of relevant experience

  • Manual skills in mechanic and equipment maintenance

  • Ability to read and interpret control devices

  • Knowledge and experience in laboratory

  • Knowledge in computers (EXCEL and SCADA System)

  • Be on call on rotation

  • Must live within 15 minutes of the workplace

  • Hold a valid driver’s licence

  • Bilingualism (French and English).  Please note that the working environment is French.

    This permanent full-time unionized position has a salary wage of $23.11 according to the Collective Agreement presently in force.

SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD (external continious posting)

(part time position, on call)

 Competition: BRIG

Reporting to the Deputy Clerk, the school crossing guard ensures the safety and wellbeing of all pedestrians as they cross a street near primary schools in the territory of Corporation of the Town of Hawkesbury.


  • Analyze the environment to determine the danger zone, assess and stop traffic safely
  • Give children safety instructions and ensure they are respected
  • Control dangerous behaviour of children during crossing of the street
  • Collaborate in school safety campaigns
  • Perform any other task related to its function and/or required by its immediate supervisor    (e.g. special events)


  • Bilingualism (French and English)
  • Knowledge of traffic and safety rules
  • Responsible, punctual, cautious and vigilent
  • Excellent visual and hearing acuity
  • Physical condition necessary (standing work)
  • Having one (1) year of relevant experience with such clientele, an asset

Depending on the street, crossing guards work between 7h30 and 9h00 in the morning also between 14h15 and 16h00 in the afternoon.
