November 6 th 2024, Service Line Warranty Canada (SLWC) Fall Campaign Offer concerning water and sewer protection plan. Back in September 2022, the Town partnered with SLWC to offer Hawkesbury homeowners protection plans to help cover the potentially expensive repair costs associated with their portion of water and sewer service lines. These plans, offered by SWLC, are used by over 1000 cities, municipalities, and utilities across North America, including over 70 in Ontario. The Town of Hawkesbury is letting homeowners know that they may receive a reminder letter regarding these protection plans in the upcoming weeks from SLWC. The letter will again include the Town’s logo to assure that this offering is legitimate. Please note that participation is optional and voluntary for homeowners in Hawkesbury and that it is not a Town program. NOTICE- SPENCE AVENUE WATER TOWER MAINTENANCE
- Details
Starting Monday, October 30, 2023, the Spence Avenue Water Tower will be taken out of service for scheduled maintenance for an approximate period of 2 weeks. Although this maintenance will not impact delivery of water to the Town, we are asking to refrain from drawing large quantities of drinking water from the distribution system.
Additionally, during this period, citizens may experience pressure fluctuations with the possibility of discoloured water because the water distribution system will be directly fed by the high-lift pumps at the Drinking Water Treatment Plant. Please note that these situations will have no harmful effect on your health.
If you experience discoloured water, leave the cold-water taps running until the water returns clear. This should not take longer than 5 minutes.
If you experience significantly low (or high) water pressure, please contact Town’s Environmental Service at 613-678-9269.
Outside office hours, if the problem is urgent and cannot wait for the reopening of the offices, contact the Fire Service Dispatch Center at 613-632-1105.
Thank you for your understanding and your collaboration while we perform this maintenance on our drinking water system. We will send a communication once the Water Tower maintenance is completed.
