NOTICE OF THE PASSING OF OFFICIAL PLAN N°8 AND A ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT BY-LAWS N°59-2024, N°60-2024 

TAKE NOTICE that the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Town of Hawkesbury passed By-law No. 59-2024 at a meeting held on Monday, September 23, 2024, under Section 17 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended.

AND TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Hawkesbury passed By-law N° 60-2024 at a meeting on Monday, September 23, 2024, under Section 34 of the Planning Act, RSO 1990, c. P.13, as amended.

DESCRIPTION OF LANDS: The subject lands are municipally known as 430 County Road 17 and legally described as Parts 5 and 6 on Plan 46R-6D20, Lot 4, Concession 1, formerly in the Geographic Township of West Hawkesbury now Hawkesbury, County of Prescott. A Key Map is provided below.

Door-to-Door Fraud Network Dismantled in Hawkesbury: The Town of Hawkesbury By-law Officers and the OPP take action

The Town of Hawkesbury by-law officers and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment recently collaborated to dismantle a door-to-door fraud network primarily targeting the elderly. This criminal network lured Hawkesbury victims into undertaking driveway paving services using high-pressure sales tactics. This was a scam that would have led to financial losses amounting to thousands of dollars for Hawkesbury residents.

Take notice that the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Town of Hawkesbury will no longer hold a public meeting on the 9th of September 2024 at 5:00 p.m., as previously advertised, instead a public hearing will be held on the 23rd of September 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Town Hall, 600 Higginson Street to consider a proposed Amendment to Zoning By-law No. 20-2018 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13.

The purpose of the application is to rezone the subject site municipally known as 1300 Spence Street, a vacant lot, to allow for the construction of a municipal service garage, storage shed and salt shed on site.

Take notice that the Committee of Adjustment of the Corporation of the Town of Hawkesbury will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, September 4th at 6 p.m. at Town Hall, 600 Higginson Street to consider a proposed minor variance for three separate properties legally described as registered Plan M-4, Parts 1, 2 & 3, Cameron Street, Hawkesbury, Ontario
