Please Note!
For pool fences and barriers, certain standards must be followed:
- Barriers must be equipped with a self-closing device that can be locked.
- This device must be located at the top inside part of the gate.
- Each fence slat must not exceed 100 mm (3 ⅞’’) in width.
- For an in-ground pool, the fence height must be at least 5 feet.
- For an above-ground pool, there must be at least one access point that is at least 4 feet high between the street, property lines, and the pool or spa.
The pool or spa must be at least 1 meter away from the rear and side yard property lines.
The pool or spa must be at least 2 meters from the main building and at least 3.7 meters from power lines.
A permit is required for any pool or spa with more than 2 feet of water depth. Pools with less than 2 feet of water depth do not require a permit but must be emptied every evening.

The process for applying for a permit to install a pool or spa is processed as follows:
- Fill out the form below and attach a sketch of the proposed location for the pool or spa, indicating the dimensions;
- Your sketch can be done by hand or on a computer, but the following elements must be clearly identified :
- Property lines
- The location of the pool or spa with its dimensions
- The location of the fences and their dimensions (in meters)
- If needed, you can use this example as inspiration

- The fees associated with the permit will be provided to you following the review of your application;
- Fees must be paid in person at City Hall (door 1), either by cheque, debit, or cash.
