Starting July 28,2025, the Environmental Service will be conducting essential fire hydrant flow testing throughout the Town of Hawkesbury. It will be performed from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., for an approximate period of 5 weeks. This work ensures that hydrants are working properly and that they have adequate flow to provide fire protection to all residential, commercial and industrial areas of the Town of Hawkesbury.
During testing in your area, you may notice temporary changes in water pressure or a slight discolouration in tap water. This is a normal part of the process. Should you notice a discolouration, leave the cold-water taps running for about 5 minutes. Note that this discolouration will have no harmful effect on your health.
