Heat Wave Warning- Precautions are to be taken.

With the upcoming heat, the Town of Hawkesbury has set up a place where residents can cool off during the forecasted heatwaves.

The Sports Complex
• Located at 425 Cartier Blvd, Hawkesbury
• Open Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Sports Complex is equipped with air conditioning, tables, chairs, and a water fountain. We invite you to bring your water bottle as well as games or activities to keep yourself occupied during the hottest times of the day.

Two other ways to cool off:
• Splash pads, located at Larocque Park (470 Abbott Street, Hawkesbury) and Cadieux Park (454 Kitchener Street, Hawkesbury)
• The Sports Complex pool is also a great way to stay cool — check the Amilia platform for schedules and availability
Extreme heat can cause dehydration, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and even death. Seniors, young children, and people taking certain medications are particularly at risk. Be sure to call or visit your family, friends, and neighbors to make sure they’re doing well, especially seniors or people living alone.
