Public Survey Results Shape the Bench Project in Downtown Hawkesbury

As part of the public survey held in February and March, the public was invited to vote on their preferred locations for the upcoming Main St. bench project. Thanks to your participation, the top eight most-voted spots have now been determined.

Funded by the Business Improvement Area (BIA-COMZAC) and supported by the Town of Hawkesbury, this initiative reflects the community’s vision for a more welcoming and vibrant Main Street. Your involvement played a key role in shaping this project, and we thank you for your input.

The next step is underway: installation of the benches is scheduled for May 2025.

This project presents several opportunities to revitalize the downtown core and strengthen support for local businesses. Some of the benefits include:

  • Increased Foot Traffic: Encouraging passersby to stop, rest, and explore local shops and services.
  • Enhanced Community Space: Making the area more accessible, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.
  • Support for Local Events: Providing practical seating that enhances community gatherings and street activities.

This project is expected to have a lasting, positive impact on both the community and businesses along Main Street, contributing to the ongoing revitalization and general positive experience for the downtown area of Hawkesbury.
