Canadian Navigable Waters Act No Interference with Navigation Notice
Canadian Navigable Waters Act
The Corporation of the Town of Hawkesbury hereby gives notice that a submission has been added to the Common Project Search (online registry) pursuant to the Canadian Navigable Waters Act described herein and its description.
Pursuant to paragraph 4.1 and 9.1 of the said Act, the Corporation of the Town of Hawkesbury has deposited with the Minister of Transport, on the on-line Common Project Search Registry (http://cps.canada.ca/) and under registry number 13457 a description of the following work:
The existing rigid frame bridge structure has a span of approximately 16.7 m, spanning over Hawkesbury Creek, and a width of approximately 16.5 m. The bridge requires rehabilitation due to deterioration. The exact high-water mark is unknown; however, original record drawings indicate that the water level in May of 1961 had an elevation of 131’ and the lowest elevation of the bridge soffit is 140.75’. The rehabilitation will be undertaken mostly from the deck top. Concrete and asphalt will be removed and reinstated. Limited concrete repairs are expected under the bridge deck. It is anticipated that the construction of the work under the bridge deck will be performed using portable equipment. No material will be deposited into the water course. The Contract requires that the watercourse remain open to navigation.
The work will occur over Hawkesbury Creek on Main St west, 30 m west of the intersection of Main St west and McGill St (Hwy 34) in the Town of Hawkesbury.
